Tending Futures

There is something deeply dissonant about the way young people are growing up in this world they've inherited — a world shaped by violence, oppression, climate collapse, disconnection, and a shrinking sense of possibility. Many are growing up without spaces that can hold their questions, their contradictions, their longings. Young people deserve spaces that honour their inner worlds, stretch their imaginations, and remind them that even in uncertain times, new futures are still within reach.

We started Tending Futures because we kept asking: What would it take for a young person to feel seen, rooted and in right relationship with the world around them?

This space is our offering towards this question.

What We Do

Spaces for teenagers to slow down, reflect, and build skills - through mentorship, 1:1 guidance, creative and reflective workshops, and community circles.

We work with young people and their caregivers to build stronger, more honest relationships through facilitated conversations and shared learning.

connection in families

relational cultures in education

We support educators and schools in creating cultures of care and belonging using everyday restorative tools and relational practices.

inner roots with young people

Our intention is to grow mycelial networks of support and learning across three interconnected areas:

  • Learning is relational. We learn best through connection, not instruction.

  • Connection is the means to alchemic change - not control or punishment.

  • What’s embodied teaches more deeply than what’s said.

  • We believe in power with, not power over.

  • The antidote to the epidemic of isolation is interdependence.

  • Meeting difference with curiosity opens the path to deeper learning.

  • Making mistakes is necessary to learning.

  • Perfectionism is the enemy of creativity.

  • Joy and play are necessary skills to nurture.
